Book Review: The Danger Box

The Danger Box
By Blue Balliett
304 pages
I thought the book was okay I would give it 3 stars. I Was expecting a lot more mystery and thrill. I think the book at first was a little misleading. I liked the writing style. I also love books with really short chapters so that was a plus. I thought that the characters weren't really developed, I kind of got a feel for zoomy but not really anybody else. I was kind of hoping for more from Lorrol. Anyways I thought the book was alright just a bit undeveloped.

Book Tag

I have always really wanted to do one of these so here goes!

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?

My mom is a kindergarden teacher and so I started reading a bit earlier, All I remember is constantly asking for her to read to me. She also says she remembers coming into my room and me having tons and tons of books out reading them. (All of which were picture books)

Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?

I really can't read two books at once. I did a lot when I was younger but now I connect a lot more to my characters and I can't.

Is there a genre you will not read?

I really don't like straight out fantasy but I might read it possibly.

Do you have a favourite book?

I really liked the ruby notebook by Laura Resau it is the second of a sereis I love.

What is your least favourite book?

Mrs. Lincolns Dressmaker. I have yet to find another I despise.

What is the longest book you have ever read?

I really have no clue.

What was the last book you bought?

The Jade Notebook by laura Resau. I ordered it on Amazon.

Do you prefer library books or buying books?

If I really like the book I want a copy on my bookshelf but I also love libraries or at least the one in my town.

What are you currently reading?

The Danger Box by Blue Balliett

Where do you buy your books?

A lot of times amazon but we have a secondhand book store that also half the books are new and popular so I go there a lot.

Do you ever pre-order books?

No.

How many books do you buy a month?

I have only bought one this month but I haven't been to a bookstore yet so....

How do you feel about second hand charity shop books?

I don't think I have ever been to one I have none in my town.

Do you keep your read and to-be-read books together?

No I am quite OCD so that is basically illegal on my bookshelf

Do you plan to read all the books you own?

I’m trying. Its really hard with all the other books I want to read.

What do you do with books you own that you know won’t be re-read?

The bookstore I said that had half secondhand books and half new books you can sell them there and I do that a lot.

Have you ever donated books?

Many times.

Have you ever been on a book buying ban?

No.

Do you think you own too many books?
Not really....well maybe.

Book Review: The Jade Notebook

The Jade Notebook
By 1aura Resau
365 pages
rate: 5 stars
I loved this book and the series,I didn't want it to ever end, but it did with a lovely ending. All of the books held a bit of mystery and thrill which I loved. This book had the most out of the three. The first had a bit at the end, then the second had a mystery the whole book but the exciting part was at the end and the same for this book but the fast pace was more for the whole last half of the book. I loved the characters and how they developed and how none of them are really who you think they are. I really like the way that Laura Resau incorporates languages into the books. In the first book it was spanish the second it was french and then the third it was spanish again. The epilogue didn't quite please me but that was just because I didn't want to let the story go and be forced to say goodbye to the characters. I thought the book was very relatable at one part when she was caught under a wave at the beach, I have had that happen to me and it is terrifying and reading that page really got my heart beating faster and I got a little scared, for zeeta and remembering when it happened. I could tell something similar had happened to Laura Resau. I really like it when authors know exactly what they are talking about. I give it 5 stars and I highly recommend this series and I will be rereading whenever possible.

Review of The Ruby Notebook

The Ruby Notebook
By Laura Resau
373 pages
I loved this book, I really love the character, I had a really hard time choosing between Wendal and Jean-Claude, only in the beginning. I loved the plot and the mystery that made me point finger many times at many different people. The ending is a cliffhanger and the next book I will read is the Jade Notebook, the last book in this seres... I'm not ready to say goodbye! Ah! I give this book 5/5 stars.

Book Review of the Indigo Notebook

The Indigo Notebook
By Laura Resau
315 pages
I really liked this book, I liked the plot, I haven't read that many books about traveling and I really liked it. It was a quick read and I am excited to read the second book, I loved the ending and how everything played out. I liked that there was a bit a romance but it wasn't overpowering. I liked the little quotes of poetry and the idea of nobodies family is perfect. I would defiantly read it again at some point and my next book I am going to read is the Ruby Notebook which is the second book.

Stargirl Book Review

Stargirl
by Jerry Spinelli
186 pages
I read this book for school, and its been one of my favorite books that I have had to read. It was a little weird discussing high school love with the teacher but I did really enjoy the book. I have the second book and I am planning on reading it because the ending left me wondering. In the beginning I kind of thought of Stargirl and a human with no emotion who didn't care at all about what people thought but I was proven wrong and found her to be very sweet and loving and in some cases almost sensitive. At least around Leo. I would definitely recommend this book for nice read with a slight touch of humor.

Review of Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Review for Will Grayson, Will Grayson
by: John Green and David Levithan
310 pages
I liked this book. Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I was reading it in the car with my friend who had read it and I pointed out that I thought that it was wierd how it didn't capitalize the i's when it was supposed to. She told me that when it capitalized the i's it was one will grayson and when it didn't it was the other. I was on chapter three so I hadn't read enough to catch on to that, but I though that it was very clever. I liked the plot a lot and I loved the ending I would recommend this book to a friend.

Book Review: Mrs. Lincolns Dressmaker

Mrs Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini
353 pages
Rating: I didn't like it.
I started reading this book when I was studying the Civil war in school. I though it was fine, a little boring but it was going along with what I was studying so I thought that was cool. I was reading another book at the time so I never finished it. I recently tried to pick it back up, and found I could not finish it! To me it seemed to be like reading a textbook, I didn't really connect with the main characters or really any of them and most of it was just telling what was going on in the war. If you really love the Civil war and have a ton of patience that go for it. It isn't really poorly written, its just boring. I have fallen asleep numerous times reading this book. I have not finished it yet and I am not sure I am going to, I really like finishing things so I may push through and do it (I only have 100 or so pages left) I am not really interested in what happens to the main character I just want to say I finished it and put it on my bookshelf to stay their forever.
